Translates storyboards, sketches and verbal instructions into 3D sequence of shots. Determines camera composition, angles and movement. Establishes set and background geometry. Creates basic blocking for all characters, props, along with temp elements such as lighting, crowds and effects. Creates sequences of shots that convey the storyline, ensuring the vision of the Director and Layout Supervisor are resolved. May create rough pre-visualization models, environments and effects to facilitate animation. Candidate is accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress. Interact with clients, production, supervisors and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes and feedback as well as provide innovative solutions, often with live-action sensibilities and contributing ideas which elevate the creative direction to the screen. Candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.
Qualifications:
Able to create layout solutions for multiple types of stories and actions. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Unreal Engine 5.x is desired, with Maya knowledge required. Experience with motion capture and virtual camera technologies is a plus. Strong knowledge of camera composition, lenses and cinematographic principles is essential. High attention to detail and good organization skills. Ability to solve problems within a production pipeline. Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.
The anticipated base salary for a Senior position is $41.20 to $59.16/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
