As a Head Engineer you will be in charge of record, edit, mix, & archive music. Assist with daily operation of studios, booking, maintenance, and ensure data security. Maintain audio video equipment in offices and in conference rooms.
What you'll do:
- Record, track vocals, midi gear, instruments
- Edit, arrange music, make clean versions of songs, commercial spots, radio drops
- Mix, songs tracked at studio, receive multitracks, blend to already existing mixes, mastered mixes
- Archive, create Multitrack, and Consolidated Audio Archives according to the NARAS standards, Backup data from sessions, backing up to different media
- Maintenance, troubleshoot, inspect, repair gear/computers, perform updates of software, operating systems,
- Data security, control access to computers/data, administer computers, back up data, remove data from studio computers, locking valuable data in safe
- Scheduling, booking of sessions, coordinating with departments to meet deadlines, assign work to interns
- Review demo submissions
Who you are:
- 3+ years in a studio environment, studio management, music engineering, music production, songwriting, remixing
- Proficient with Mac OS and PC operating systems, Macintosh and Windows Computers
- Proficient with Pro Tools, Any 3rd party plug-ins that may be used in the recording process
- Familiarity with FTP clients, data backup software
- Familiarity with Outboard processing
- Familiarity with Akai/MPC, Korg, Yamaha, Roland, Open Labs, E-MU or any outboard midi gear
