PlayStation isn’t just the Best Place to Play —it’s also the Best Place to Work. We’ve thrilled gamers since 1994, when we launched the original PlayStation. Today, we’re recognized as a global leader in interactive and digital entertainment. The PlayStation brand falls under Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation.
This internship is for Summer 2020.
Magic Lab Intern
San Mateo, CA
As part of Magic Lab you will have the opportunity to work on experiences in virtual reality, with prior projects including a multi-user collaboration experience in VR in conjunction with NASA/JPL, and more recently a project to help craft more compelling virtual characters. Projects vary in scope and can go beyond virtual reality, however; a recent internship project was a game that sought to bring PlayStation out into the real world, where players would play a game against an NPC which was a flying drone controlled by the PS4. You have a real passion for gaming and virtual reality and are committed to finding new and innovative ways to connect the two.
Your Summer consists of two halves; with the first half focusing on exploration and the second half on polishing a project. The outcome of the internship projects are then showcased to folks both inside and outside the company, through conferences and visits to Magic Lab.
