Role overview:

This role provides transactional support and counselling to a broad range of SIE EMEA business functions, namely operations and corporate functions (including HR, Finance, Procurement and Facilities), reverse logistics, EMEA channel sales, peripheral and merchandise licensing, media and creative agencies, consumer insights, and Net Ads.

What you'll be doing:

Provide transactional support and counselling to a broad range of SIE EMEA business functions, including:

  • Operations (warehousing and logistics, transportation services, reverse logistics);
  • Corporate functions including HR, Finance, Procurement, Facilities (goods, software and services procurement);
  • EMEA channels sales (terms of sale with retailers, distribution agreements);
    • Peripheral and merchandise licensing (negotiating complex license agreements with peripheral and merchandise manufacturers for use of PS trademark or to make PlayStation compatible peripheral devices);
    • media and creative agencies (purchasing and making advertising and digital activations);
    • consumer insights; and 
    • Net Ads (insertion orders and targeted advertising).
  • Support the above areas by managing and closing a wide variety of business-critical agreements in a high-volume environment.
  • Identify opportunities and devise and implement solutions to improve and streamline PlayStation’s internal processes to better scale high-volume contracting and in support of the above business areas.

What we're looking for:

  • A qualified lawyer with proven years’ post-qualified legal experience.
  • Experience with UK law is a requirement, experience with other European legal systems is a significant plus.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and licenses, particularly in the operations, sales, software, technology and/or marketing sectors.
  • Experience supporting sales, operations and marketing and advertising related commercial transactions and related regulatory issues.
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to identify and analyse legal issues quickly and accurately in ambiguous environments and to develop creative, scalable, and customer-friendly solutions by exercising excellent judgement.
  • The desire to develop trusted relationships internally and to work in a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Capability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-house experience is a plus, particularly in a technology company or advertising or marketing agency.
  • Able to establish relationships and consensus among cross-functional and cross-level groups and bring initiatives to conclusion.
  • Organised self-starter, with drive and ambition who thrives under pressure, and is capable of confidently working alongside the most senior stakeholders across the wider business.
