CREATIVE STRATEGIST, Contingent role (Hybrid, Remote)

The Creative Strategist will be a key contributor to the strategic objectives and creative visions for an internal creative studio at one of the world’s largest entertainment companies. The role ideally has a background or foundation in brand / campaign strategy, campaign production or account management, with the ability to create and drive unique strategic visions across a variety of projects and platforms. The focus of the Creative Strategist will be to collaborate with both clients and internal creative leads to develop unique brand experiences that strategically align with the organization.

 

The Creative Strategy Team:

The Strategy Team drives the overall executional vision of our projects and campaigns, ensuring that our work is not only creatively excellent, but tactically and seamlessly achieves the strategic objectives of clients and stakeholders. The Strategy Team collaborates closely with the Creative Direction Team to establish the overall creative vision and principles for a project or campaign, in accordance with the client’s objectives and then provides ongoing guidance, support and problem solving to ensure that the original vision and messaging is maintained throughout the life cycle of the project. The Strategy Team also works closely with the Production team to properly set up, plan and scope for the execution of our projects against budget and timeline.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Creative Leads, Managers, Artists, and other partners within Sony to own and drive strategic initiatives and internal R&D programs.
  • Facilitate creative sessions, partner with stakeholders, drive opportunities for improvement, and guide them in creative exercises to define campaign positioning.
  • Develop and share ownership over project-driven and mutually beneficial company-wide relationships.
  • Support teams across all facets of a campaign, providing guidance, positivity, problem solving and a general customer-focused approach.
  • Maintain consistent internal communication with Creative Leads to understand all parts of a campaign. Provide clear and concise copy editorial support for Creative presentations.
  • Review creative work with a strategic lens, ensuring that our output meets essential messaging and objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of video games or entertainment industry experience supporting multiple platform development teams.
  • Ability to understand and discuss micro and macro strategic objectives, both in the initial campaign development phase and within the production feedback loop.
  • Aligning with client/stakeholders and ensuring team is able to support the demands of the project.
  • Experience developing, creating, and delivering creative presentations and pitch materials.
  • Ability to listen attentively, communicate clearly, and provide thoughtful and respectful solutions.
  • Basic understanding of the artistic, design, and production processes across a variety of mediums.
  • Committed flexibility and positive nature, adapting to creative or situational changes and/or requests.
  • Ability to multitask, balance multiple projects, and identify priorities.
  • Interest in growth, learning and development within the role, keeping a pulse on current trends within the gaming / entertainment industry.
  • Stellar verbal and written skills - copywriting experience a plus.

Please note this is a contract/contingency position for a minimum of 12 months. Staring hourly rate at $40 and open to discussion based on experience.
