Leave of Absence Program Manager (Contract) - 6-month assignment

Come join Sony Interactive Entertainment and be part of our creative benefits team! As Leave of Absence Program Manager passionate about people, you will play a vital role in ensuring the Company’s legal compliance with various federal and state laws related to leave and accommodations while handing employee requests for various types of leave.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Employee Relations and Leave Programs, and work in partnership with PlayStation’s current Leave Program Manager. The focus of this role is to administer PlayStation’s leave of absence and accommodations programs. The scope includes medical and family care leaves under FMLA, ADA and state/local laws and regulations, parental leave, personal leave, and worker’s compensation in the United States and Canada. The Leave Program Manager will also interact with employees and oversee reasonable accommodations, modified work schedules, and partner with counsel on critical issues. You will be instrumental in enhancing employees’ end-to-end experience learning about and navigating leaves, time off, accommodations and worker’s compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage leave of absence vendor and serve as a point of contact for leaves of absence requests
  • Facilitate and lead interactive discussions with employees related to accommodation requests
  • Serve as liaison between leave of absence third party administrator, legal counsel and HR Business Partners, addressing and resolving all stakeholder concerns
  • Assess LOA pay benefits and oversee payroll reports and inquiries associated with employees on leave of absence
  • Manage time off and leaves in Workday or other HRIS administration system
  • Ensure exceptional customer service experience by responding timely and accurately to leave related questions through email, phone and face-to-face interactions
  • Help to review and implement new processes and procedures and update Leave of Absence forms, templates and policies
  • Provide departmental training, which will be customized to meet the specific departmental needs
  • Train management, supervisors and employees on various leave and accommodations issues
  • Ensure compliance with all national, state, or local regulations and laws related to time off, leave, accommodations and worker’s compensation program by staying informed about relevant legislation, new regulations, and industry best practice.
  • Serve as SIE’s internal subject matter expert for employees at all levels for questions and escalation related to Worker’s compensation, leave, and accommodations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in HR or Legal with benefits and leave administration (time off, accommodations, workers compensation)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations that impact U.S. and Canada leaves and accommodation and experience applying the same
  • Experience with vendor managements, programs and projects related to leave administration
  • Experience managing time off and leaves in Workday or other HRIS administration systems
  • Skilled in calculating statutory benefit offsets and auditing Payroll reports as related to employees on time off
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop effective relationships and partnerships with other partners at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with other teams, internal and external, and strong customer service skills, empathy and emotional intelligence to support the Company in highly sensitive conversations related to employee’s request for leave and accommodations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented and the able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and manage time appropriately
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and use discretion in handling highly sensitive information

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
