Live Services Program Manager

San Mateo, CA

Our Global Marketing department is seeking a dynamic, motivated, disciplined Live Services Program Manager. In this role, you will work on developing new live service gaming Marketing programs and processes. Key to this role are seasoned program management skills, marketing experience, familiarity with live service gaming, and demonstrated experience in process design. We are looking Program Managers who are collaborative and capable of initiating action, have ability to create and juggle sophisticated schedules with inter-related dependencies, experiences in a matrixed organization, and ability to effectively influence collaborators, project teams, leadership, and business partners.

The successful candidate will be for responsible for process development for the marketing functions in a live service gaming environment, as well as go-to-market product launches and campaigns for live service games as well as other marketing initiatives.

This role will partner cross functionally with Marketing, Game Studios, Creative, Product, Licensing, Commerce, Paid Media, CRM, Client Engineering, PlayStation.com, Consumer Experience, Legal, Analytics, Store Operations teams, local countries, and external business partners.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Own and drive development of marketing live service gaming processes across all verticals within Global Marketing, working closely with other divisions such as game studios, legal, product & engineering, customer experience, etc to build, agree, adopt, and evolve new marketing live service gaming operations for the company
  • Create processes to support marketing functions and operations, inclusive of initial live service launch and all subsequent releases/beats in a live services environment, focusing on areas such as creative, media, localization, consumer insights, consumer experience, etc.
  • Build ways of working between resulting in a playbook of PlayStation engagement processes to provide marketing support on live service titles
  • Program management for process development and resulting delivery of marketing initiatives for multiple large cross-regional, cross-functional live service gaming initiatives for PlayStation and partner companies
  • Responsible for end-to-end initiative management, demonstrating leadership and partnership across the project or program from end to end
  • Initiatives involve large-scale projects and programs, and include Opportunity Assessment (validating opportunity, developing cases, facilitating early approvals); Initiation (scope, major deliverables, timelines with inter-related dependencies); Planning and Design (creating project team structure, running project team, leading business requirements); Execution (leading implementation of project or program, budget management); and Close (conducting formal retrospectives, documenting lessons learned, measuring outcomes against baseline)
  • Translate business requirements to executable plans and drive execution
  • Manage dependencies, gap analysis, and risks
  • Help to evolve consistent go-to-market, campaign and localization processes, globally for PlayStation-supported live service campaigns

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • 5+ years Program / Project Management experience driving complex live service gaming product and campaign launches, with experience leading large cross-functional, cross-regional team programs
  • Experience building processes within marketing functions, ideally for live service gaming operations and inclusive of full marketing business model
  • Ability to build consensus through strategic vision and outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage effectively within a matrix organization
  • Experience with translating business requirements into executable plans with measurable outcomes
  • Understanding of marketing operations including budgeting, tracking, and measuring at the portfolio level
  • Robust organizational and project management capabilities, including experiences with tracking complex timelines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, combined with strategic business focus and vision
  • Strong collaborative management style, with an execution and solutions focus
  • Strong process orientation and enforcement
  • Strong understanding of marketing’s core functions and capabilities
  • Ability to succeed midst ambiguity, and to create predictability from chaos

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
