Sonic’s Construction Project Engineer is responsible for Sonic’s permitting process with multiple municipalities from application to closeout, while promoting Sonic's core values of outstanding customer service, quality, security and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with project management to create permit acquisition schedules that align with project construction schedules in multiple municipalities.

  • Interface with numerous municipal building and roadway departments to complete permit application requests, coordinate work inspections and secure project completion approvals.

  • Prepare purchase order requests and associated construction tracking.

  • Deliver completed permit applications and fees to various municipal business license departments to secure construction permits.

  • Track open and pending permits in multiple municipalities to ensure coordination with project construction schedules.

  • Cross – train to perform field walk-out position and GIS as needed.

  • Pre and post construction processes.

Must Haves:

  • Experience and knowledge of State, Highway Department & Municipal requirements for construction permitting processes.

  • Working knowledge of traffic control permitting requirements.

  • Knowledge of State and Highway Department permitting requirements

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Dropbox desired.

Our Perfect Candidate:

  • Knowledge of pole application process and procedures.

  • Knowledge of AT&T and PG&E paperwork processes.

  • Degree in Construction Management.
