Investment Banking Associate – Technology Sector
Solomon Partners is seeking an investment banking associate with deep sector-focused expertise across the technology landscape to provide best-in-class M&A services to large-cap and middle-market companies. Experience should include coverage within data, analytics, software, or tech-enabled services. This is a career track opportunity and includes a high level of autonomy as well as close mentorship from senior bankers across the firm.
Location: Hybrid / New York City (1345 Ave of the Americas)
Associates are assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities which include:
- Conducting extensive quantitative, economic, industry, and company-specific research / analysis
- Financial modeling, valuation, comparable & relative value analyses, and market-specific analysis
- Researching and preparing detailed industry insights and trends across multiple Technology sectors
- Drafting client pitches and marketing materials for M&A and public/private debt & equity capital markets transactions as well as other internal documentation by coordinating internal and external resources
- Identifying key industry / product trends and understanding the associated implications to provide input for our clients
- Modeling a broad range of corporate finance alternatives and conducting due diligence for transactions including M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structure development, and acquisition financing
- Facilitating and coordinating product group idea generation and solutions development across a broad platform of global capabilities
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to assist in the development and cultivation of client and company relationships
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets experience with a top tier global bank OR an MBA concentrating on Finance or Economics
- Strong interest and understanding of the Technology industry; experience with banking transactions related to the Technology industry is encouraged
- Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills
- Knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets, and risk & pricing analysis
- Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Maturity and good judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Creativity, intellectual curiosity, and ability to effectively convey ideas
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Salary:
- Expected base salary range from $175K - $225k* plus eligibility for discretionary bonus
