Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a quality intern to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next‐generation, all solid‐state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate will be a currently enrolled undergraduate student with1-2 years of university-level in chemistry, materials science, or a related discipline.The Quality Intern will work in a laboratory environment, with their primary responsibility being the efficient and accurate chemical, physical and mechanical analysis of solid-state battery materials and components.
Job Duties:
Conduct QC analytical measurements of incoming raw materials, including measurement of physical and chemical properties of battery components and solid-state electrolyte precursors.
Assist in statistical process control, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, and control charting of quality metrics.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure analytical testing procedures provide sufficient and timely feedback.
Support development of QC methods for raw, in-process, and final materials.
Other analytical and quality tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
More than 18 years of age.
Previous experience in an analytical laboratory is desirable. Hands-on experience working with various analytical tools for solid and liquid chemical analysis and physical testing within a manufacturing laboratory environment preferred.
Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment, including ionizing radiation in the form of X-rays, is required.
Familiarity with any of the following is highly desirable: Particle size analysis, thermal analysis (DSC/TGA), GC/MS, XRD, microscopy.
Available to work approximately 40 hours a week during the summer of 2024.

Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled undergraduate student, preferably one with 1-2 years of progress towards a degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
May need to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hourly Compensation: $22/hour
