Solid Power is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Participates in the development and implementation of company-wide safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fire protection, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
Advises the company regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of employees and the environment, as well as regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
Performs hazard analyses and recommends mitigation procedure.
Participates in the development and implementation of department safety work order tracking and reporting.
Conducts routine and follow-up environmental health, safety, and hazard inspections of facilities.
Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire and smoke incidents, or unknown hazards; prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
Analyzes accident and incident reports for trends; makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a safety related field.
Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
Perform safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
Develop safety procedures and protocols.
Investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. Identify patterns in data.
Search for and identify chemical, and radiological hazards.
Advise management on the cost and effectiveness of safety and health programs.
Provide training on new regulations.
Develop methods to predict hazards.
U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
Salary Range: : $70,000 - $94,000/year
