As the Assistant Manager, Logistics Operations - UK, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence of our UK Supply Chain. You will be the main point of contact for our UK 3PL and responsible for positioning SDJ as the preferred customer for operational performance. This position will require close collaboration with our Customer Operations team as well as our Commercial teams.

The position will report to the Manager, Operations & Logistics – EU/UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will extend across Logistics Operations, Order Delivery and Compliance, and Supplier-Facing functions:

  • 3PL Management:
    • Manage and monitor the day-to-day logistics and transport operations from and to the UK.
    • Partner with our UK 3PL warehouse to maintain their compliance with retailers’ requirements.
    • Handle order discrepancies claims and chargebacks.
    • Prioritise outbound orders and inbound deliveries based on business needs.
    • 3PL invoices review and approval
    • Proactive Communication: Provide clear visibility on orders progress and communicate pro-actively any foreseen delays.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of the 3PL overall operations.
  • Metric Development: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance, ensuring that metrics align with 3PL expectations and industry standards. This includes creating a dual scorecard to understand both our performance and how our 3PL partners perform.
  • Partner of Choice: Position SDJ as the preferred partner by consistently delivering operational excellence, meeting, or exceeding 3PL expectations, and fostering strong relationships with them.
  • Continuous Improvement: lead initiatives that enhance SDJ and 3PL’s end-to-end supply chain to implement best practices and increase overall efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel to our UK 3PL in East London (E6) as needed to support 3PL operations.
  • Must be comfortable working a hybrid schedule: up to 3 days/week in our UK office (London NW1) or at our UK 3PL (London E6).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in Logistics Operations, Supply Chain or other related fields.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and levels of the organization.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to make informed decisions to implement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to operate effectively and efficiently on an independent level.
