The position will report to the Senior Art Director, Promo.

 

Role Overview

The position is responsible for delivering effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative for Digital eCommerce and Print within the promo category. This individual will be responsible for translating and adapting the brand experience through 360 campaigns, ensuring SDJ identity remains recognizable, with focus on a digital platform. They will partner closely with the category team and cross-functionally with the digital and brand teams to consistently elevate our global online presence.

This individual must be a self-starter with a portfolio that showcases a deep knowledge of design, color theory, and typography, with a focus in digital design while being able to contribute and translate design ideas to support 360 campaigns through a Sol de Janeiro lens. They must have a keen understanding of the importance of messaging hierarchies– able to partner with copy to ensure the CX across copy and design is clear and cohesive across channels. This person is eager to support collaborative big-picture thinking, but is currently an executional master who finds satisfaction in executing work to highest caliber.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Adapt and translate 360 campaign and product launches.
  • Design unique retailer.com digital requests, including but not limited to web banners, landing pages, emails, paid media, and occasional print collateral.
  • Ability to be flexible and turn deliveries around quickly, with organized artwork files for final release to partners.
  • Support the Senior Art Director and wider Creative Team when needed.
  • Assist in campaigns and photo art direction tasks as needed.

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/BFA degree in graphic design, graphic communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working at a digital agency or in-house graphic design team for a product-driven business. Beauty experience preferred.
  • Software Requirements
    • Required: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
    • Preferred animation platforms: After Effects
  • A deep knowledge of digital design and digital production.
  • Understanding of branding and graphic storytelling within the digital retail environment.
  • The ideal candidate is a master graphic technician: concerned with resolutions, color and size accuracies, production values. Must know the difference between RGB and CMYK, spot color and process, a vector or a raster, etc.
  • Career track record that shows the candidate has a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines using excellent organizational skills, quality execution and attention to detail.
  • Interest in photo art direction and assisting in preproduction, such as concepting and pulling swipe, and post production, such as making selects and assisting in overseeing retouching.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely – ability to provide and receive constructive feedback that is necessary to improve designs.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thoughtful, empathetic, and positive attitude with infectious personal drive that energizes others.
  • A proactive, self-starter work ethic with the ability to operate independently within a small team.
  • Must be highly collaborative with ability to understand the objectives of all cross-functional partners and work toward a design that meets that need and upholds the creative integrity of the brand.

Salary Range
$75,000$85,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
