The Role:
We are seeking an experienced communications Specialist to drive awareness for SoFi and its consumer products and services across banking, investing, lending, and other personal finance offerings. The Senior Communications Specialist will partner closely across our business units, product marketing, social, and creative teams to develop and execute communication plans that help amplify innovation, attract attention, and build trust.
This role requires an understanding and interest for innovation within personal finance, human storytelling, and cultural trends, with an understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape to help SoFi stand out in a crowded environment and fulfill its mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement consumer-facing communication programs that support SoFi’s financial platform, its products and services.
- Craft evergreen tactics using data, insights, testimonials, and in-the-moment news cycles that resonate with our target audiences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the consumer tech ecosystem and how to maximize press opportunities to amplify new and existing products.
- Serve as an earned media strategist to the product leads, providing insights and recommendations on communication strategies.
- Bridge the gap between consumer communications and product, by identifying and building a holistic innovation roadmap.
- Report on measurement techniques to assess the impact of communication strategies and adjust tactics accordingly.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in communications, with a strong preference for work on behalf of consumer tech brands.
- Passion for educating people to unlock their potential with the right resources and information.
- Ample knowledge of the consumer tech and personal finance media landscape.
- Experience generating earned media to elevate brand presence in crowded environments by exploring creative tactics.
- Ability to use data and analytics in communications to build culturally relevant story angles and programming.
- Strong collaborator working within matrixed organizations by building relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Self-starter ready to run after problems, learn, and seize opportunities in a fast paced environment.
- Curiosity for qualitative and quantitative research and the impact of innovation to help people.
- Strong writing, critical thinking, and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
