The Job at a Glance 

Reporting to the Head of Operations and collaborating closely with the CEO and Leadership Team, you will be responsible for a wide range of finance, forecasting, and accounting activities at a rapidly scaling health-tech startupThe ideal candidate will be able to oscillate between driving high-priority strategic work with rigorous quantitative analyses and leading tactical topics like FP&A, annual budgeting, monthly financial close/cash burn tracking, and other activities.  The role will require strong leadership abilities and a willingness to roll up sleeves and dig in as you build out our finance and accounting functions.   

What You’ll Do 

Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail and financial technology, no two days will look the same.  Typical responsibilities of the role include:  

  • Act as Soda Health’s day-to-day owner on all finance and accounting topics, including managing the relationship with our external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders 
  • Run our company-wide budgeting process; partner with various functional areas and produce rigorous financial analyses to support planning, prioritization, and other activities 
  • Refactor and manage our financial models to support ongoing financial planning analysis and inform critical decisions like future funding rounds, capital investments, and headcount; establish and track core metrics that are essential to the financial health of the company 
  • Identify and assess feasibility, fit, and financial opportunity associated with new revenue streams and on-going operations; model and monitor the margin profile of our solutions to inform pricing, investments, and viability 
  • Drive project initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure Soda Health has the correct infrastructure and systems in place to support financial activities 
  • Refine, manage, and scale financial accounting and reporting processes, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, monthly/quarterly/annual close, our annual financial audit, forecasting, and assorted financial reporting 
  • Produce leadership, investor, and board materials that provide clear, concise, and on-time information; prepare CEO and other leaders with relevant information and sensitivity analyses to support effective discussion, prioritization, and decision-making  
  • Lead and grow a high-functioning team as our business need scale 

About You 

While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:  

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in senior finance, accounting, and/or FP&A roles, preferably in a start-up or rapidly scaling organization 
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and extensive experience with Microsoft Excel; experience with Mosaic or similar FP&A software solutions is a plus 
  • Self-starting builder who is goal-oriented, can embrace ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment; you have a bias for action and want to roll up your sleeves to solve a myriad of problem sets – whether financial, operational, or product related 
  • Strong communicator and relationship cultivator who can successfully influence and partner with various levels of the organization and key external stakeholders; a high level of emotional intelligence is a must, alongside the ability to set clear project team direction and communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups 
  • Commitment to building a diverse culture that is highly collaborative, strives to set and achieve goals together, and embraces transparency, innovation, and accountability 
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience strongly preferred; MBA and/or CPA is a plus 

 

Other Requirements 

  • Travel may be required from time to time as part of the role, for company events and business needs; candidates will regularly collaborate in-person with the CEO, who is based in Bentonville, AR; candidates already residing in or near Bentonville, AR are a plus. 
  • Soda Health is a remote-first, distributed workforce. Candidates should be comfortable with, and equipped to work within, a distributed remote team, including having reliable internet access and basic home office equipment. Soda Health will provide a work laptop, and mouse/keyboard upon request.
