Overview

The Head of Procurement will be responsible for the sourcing, planning, negotiating and contracting for direct and indirect procurement of goods and services upon request from various departments. In addition, this position will  be responsible for researching price discrepancies, and analyzing data for presentation to key stakeholders. The individual in this role must have the ability to identify opportunities and influence key stakeholders to execute on procurement decisions and supply initiatives that are in the best business interest of the Company.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify, recommend & participate in process improvement initiatives based on procurement best practices  
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best possible terms
  • Work with multiple departments to help facilitate the purchase of goods and services, including overseeing the approval process and communication workflows for establishing new vendors 
  • Analyze and track vendor performance on a continual basis
  • Provide valuable and actionable data to support year over year cost savings and cost avoidance
  • Lead supplier identification, approval, contract/pricing negotiations and vendor relations
  • Develop implementation plans to drive proposed changes in procurement and sourcing initiatives
  • Create forecasts of spend and analysis and present results to executive leadership
  • Assist budget owners and requesters in the preparation of requests for proposals (RFP), request for qualifications (RFQ), procurement contracts, amendments, and other related procurement documents
  • Monitor and strategically manage supplier relationships
  • Identify and resolve contractual issues while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Source and implement best-in-class tooling to (1) optimize the Procure-to-Pay cycle and workflows, including a PO process implementation and to (2) provide competitive vendor intelligence re functionality, adoption & pricing
  • Build and lead a high performing team

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years in Supply Chain and/or Procurement 
  • Strong negotiation skills, specifically with SaaS vendors and external agencies
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Team player with strong communication and problem solving skills as well as leadership capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills (researching, analyzing and interpreting data)
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS company preferred
  • Legal Experience Preferred
