What the role is:

Reporting to the Vice President of Emerging Markets, the Strategy Director is the research arm, education lead and internal market expert and advocate. The Strategy Director will be a subject matter expert for all Socure products and will be responsible for understanding new market nuances and matching them to solutions using Socure's products, developing the emerging vertical to become a core segment within the company, and training the sales team to deliver to these verticals. The Strategy Director will work collaboratively with various departments across the organization to support the sale of Socure's solutions. This individual will also be responsible for coordinating resources across several functional areas. In addition, the Strategy Director will work with other senior employees across the organization in ensuring our products are at the forefront of all cutting edge, high growth industries.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct industry research, competitive intelligence research and regulatory research to determine a business case for burgeoning new verticals
  • Work closely with Marketing leadership to identify key messaging for target Emerging Markets and to research product market fit
  • Represent Socure’s products and services, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to consumer research to identify how our solutions meet needs
  • Develop strategic Emerging Market opportunities and build relationships by nurturing prospect relationships and finding new potential sales outlets
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of relevant opportunities and engage Vertical Leads for co-selling 
  • Identify best practices to refine Socure’s Emerging Markets playbook
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify opportunities for POC tests
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and Vertical Leads
  • Provide ongoing training to sales team as Emerging Market becomes Core
  • Report to Vice President of Emerging Accounts with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
  • Provide project leadership and mentor other team members

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience working as a senior account executive, with a history of exceeding sales targets
  • 2+ years of experience in market research and crafting key messaging
  • Outstanding negotiation, challenger selling and consultative sales skills
  • Demonstrated experience accessing enterprise-level engagements dealing with complex sales cycles
  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate resources and priorities with multiple stakeholders in order to drive business results
  • Strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organization
  • Proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM software
  • Prior experience as a Sales Development Representative or Account Executive with a track record of achieving sales quotes with SaaS related products
  • Prior experience in the financial services 
  • Excited by the challenges of a fast-paced, mission-driven company set on disrupting the identity verification industry 
  • Comfort with up to 50% travel, post-COVID—this is a remote role, with travel as required
