Role Overview

SocialCode is seeking a Head of People to build the digital agency of the future. We are looking for someone who can help us build an organization that brings out the best in each of our employees. Reporting to the COO, this position is an integral member of the executive leadership team. You’ll lead, develop, and inspire our employee population and the people team (currently 6 people). You will be responsible for developing progressive programs that translate strategic business goals into practical people practices and support SocialCoders across our operations.

Your day-to-day:
  • Develop your long-term people vision, in coordination with the CEO and COO, and lead your team in the tactical execution to bring that vision to life.

  • Assess our people practices and lead change initiatives that will make SocialCode a higher performance organization, our employees happier and more productive, and help everyone share in the future that SocialCode wants to build.

  • Expand and enhance our recruiting approach and capability to attract top talent and drive improved retention.

  • Ensure the organizational design and rewards structure reflects a dynamic business environment and motivates the behaviors, performance, and values needed to drive our company growth and employee happiness.

  • Develop and build a people management vision that helps us understand what it means to be a manager at SocialCode and to develop our team into exceptional managers.

  • Ensure we’re building an inclusive environment by embedding intentional diversity & inclusion initiatives throughout the people programs and processes.

  • Develop consultative peer relationships with our executive team

  • Keep your finger on the pulse of the organization, supporting employees through hardship, and influencing managers to enact changes that preserve what’s unique about our culture while helping us evolve to support the needs of SocialCoders.

  • Ensure analytics are embedded through our people practices to provide the insights and data needed to drive/steer management decisions.

  • Advise on M&A activities.

  • Work at both the strategic and tactical/execution level to ensure your people programs are effective.

 
Your Skills & Experience
  • You will be a proven people leader with 10+ years experience and skill sets in building a rich culture to support a high growth, progressive, entrepreneurial company.

  • You have experience joining organizations, assessing their people infrastructure, understanding organizational goals and priorities, and designing and implementing a comprehensive people philosophy and strategy around hiring, managing, development, compensation, etc.

  • A deep blend of business acumen and HR experience. You leverage your understanding of our business to fully comprehend the corporate strategy and provide effective partnership to develop talent strategies that ensure its implementation. This expertise allows you to think strategically and translate high-level business objectives to actionable talent initiatives.

  • You have the general management capabilities to effectively assess the business environment coupled with a high degree of emotional intelligence to gain the trust and commitment necessary for transformative change.

  • You’ve been “in the trenches” of a variety of HR roles including a mix of business partner, training, operations, and recruiting.

  • Your Legal literacy skills are sharp enough to ensure a culture of compliance and integrity at every level of the organization.

  • You’re confident and humble, willing to operate at both the strategic and tactical level. You leverage this disposition, and your grasp of the business and market trends, to help you earn trust and influence decision-making at this highest level.
