Our Opportunity

Our team is responsible for ensuring the reliability of the Snyk platform's most critical core service. In this role, you will establish and implement a strategy for stabilising the team’s area of the platform, making the Snyk platform more reliable and maintainable.

We’re looking for a proactive engineer, who enjoys working as part of a team with a critical mission. Collaboration with other product engineering teams will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

Pair-programming with application developers and reliability engineers to improve codebase maintainability and database performance.
Analysing and diagnosing the key factors that significantly influence the performance of a monolith service.
Proactively contributing to code, prototyping and developing solutions with a bias for action, and focusing on iterative delivery.
Proposing solutions that deliver both short-term benefits and also serve as strategic long-term technical investments.
Teaching and coaching others outside of your team in order to build a community of practices centred around distributed system reliability and operability.
Leading by example and fostering an environment of inclusion and growth through pairing, feedback and mentoring.
Working with other teams across Snyk R&D globally to actively lead and execute the team’s mission.
Maintaining our high standards for code quality, testing, and iterative & continuous delivery.
Participating in our on-call rotation (compensated).

What You’ll Need:

7+ years' experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript, and the desire to work across other languages as needed such as Go
Experience with relational databases such as Postgres
Proficiency in developing distributed applications
Experience with development tooling like CI/CD tools
Experience handling incidents in production environment

We’d be Lucky if You:

Are passionate about all things security and reliability
Have a good understanding of Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code
Have deep knowledge and experience with large scale database in production environment
