Snowflake technical writers work with a world-class team of engineers and architects to create product documentation for Snowflake's industry-leading Cloud Data Platform. Working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, you experience the immediate and direct impact of your contributions as Snowflake delivers weekly releases to our rapidly growing base of global customers.
Create online documentation, tutorials, and sample programs/code for technical audiences (SQL engineers, application developers, etc).
Meet with product managers, software engineers, and UI designers to ensure all features, enhancements, and changes are fully documented.
Work with release engineers and dev ops to deliver weekly product updates and documentation.
Work with support engineers and customer success managers to help drive customer engagement and adoption, including:
Contributing to Knowledge Base articles and Community questions.
Authoring and editing technical blog posts.
Developing training materials, implementation guides, migration guides, best practices, and FAQs.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
5+ years creating technical product documentation from scratch, as well as from specs.
Expertise in SQL and RDBMS (Oracle, Teradata, Redshift, SQL Server, etc.), including reading and writing sample code.
Experience developing and/or documenting applications using any of the following technologies:
Big Data analytics, machine learning, and statistics (Spark, R, etc.).
Database drivers/connectors (JDBC, ODBC, etc.).
Experience with all aspects of the documentation development lifecycle, including:
Gathering information, interviewing SMEs, and conducting research.
Authoring, publishing, and managing online/web content.
Exposure to ETL/ELT and BI technologies.
Exposure to Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, etc.).
Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and technologies (Jenkins, Lambda, etc.).
Familiarity with open-source platforms and authoring/publishing tools for a "Docs-as-Code" approach (Git, RST/Sphinx, DITA XML, etc)
