Snapdocs is a rapidly growing company backed by investors like Sequoia, Y Combinator, F-Prime and Tiger Global. We're an innovative team taking on the extensive mortgage market, bringing scalable and sophisticated software to a pillar of the US economy that still relies on fax machines and manila envelopes.

Snapdocs is ready to expand our team with a Senior DevOps Engineer tasked to champion the cloud infrastructure that powers our platform. Are you interested in contributing to the fault tolerant, self healing, scalable foundation that will bring an entire industry into the future? Then we have a role for you.

Snapdocs is a rapidly growing San Francisco-based startup backed by leading investors Sequoia, Y Combinator, Tiger Global, F-Prime, and others. We're on a mission to perfect mortgage closings for all. Powering millions of closings a year, Snapdocs is leading the charge to modernize, streamline, and improve the mortgage process for lenders, borrowers, and settlement. We bring security, efficiency, and ultimately a better home buying experience to a paper-based pillar of the US economy. As our platform traffic expands, it's critical that we build out fully automated CI/CD pipelines from inception to deployment. That’s where you come in…

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will play a central role in building and maintaining our staging & production Kubernetes environments, creating automation, containerization with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, improving performance, scalability, monitoring, developing best practices for DR and deployments to ultimately ensure 99.99% platform uptime. In addition to contributing to core services, you will build new tools for our engineering team & even lend a helping hand to debug production issues across services when the need arises. You will work with product and engineering teams to release at a high velocity and contribute in all phases of the SDLC. When the need arises, you are ready to lend a helping hand to debug production issues across services in addition to participating in an on-call rotation. Today our team is working in Ruby on Rails, React, Postgres, GO, AWS, Docker, Terraform & Kubernetes to name a few but things change quickly so be comfortable learning new tools.

Over the past 5+ years or so, you have gained an expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) systems administration. Today, you have moved everything out of a DC into the cloud and have mastered AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, ElastiCache, Redshift, Elastic MapReduce, Route 53, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk). You strive to automate everything possible and have worked with server automation tools like Terraform and Kubernetes (Helm). You have a bias toward testing & know the value of clean code being pushed to production. You know the pain of bugs being pushed & take actions to prevent this from occurring. Bash or Golang are your go to tools for development & scripting today but you are also comfortable working in other languages like Python or Java if needed. A pragmatic approach is what we expect. You fall more into the Dev side of the DevOps spectrum but still maintain deep knowledge of Systems Operations. You have seen scale in your time; solving a diverse range of problems with complex distributed systems & relational databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) in both startups and large organizations.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor required by law to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We are also required to measure our progress toward having at least 7% of our workforce be individuals with disabilities. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had a disability. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we ask all of our employees to update their information at least every five years.

Identifying yourself as an individual with a disability is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions. Completing the form will not negatively impact you in any way, regardless of whether you have self-identified in the past. For more information about this form or the equal employment obligations of federal contractors under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
