Bitmoji has transformed how people chat by giving everyone their own personal set of emojis. Each bitmoji features a personalized avatar on a custom handmade graphic, letting people communicate in ways that words alone could never capture.
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join Team Bitmoji! Working from our Toronto office, you will own driving innovation, building great teams, and delivering customer focused features. Your team will be tasked with building out high scale rendering services. You will own Bitmoji’s existing rendering solutions, as well as developing next generation methods that are efficient and fast at rendering billions of customized bitmojis across all digital platforms at incredible scale, while keeping costs down.
What you’ll do:
Collaboratively build products with multiple stakeholders on the Engineering and Artist team
Build and manage high availability services and APIs
Technically lead a team of engineers, helping them grow their skills and deliver features and products
Mentor junior engineers and be able to divide larger projects into manageable yet challenging components for them
What we’re looking for:
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, Master’s degree a plus
8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
4+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
History of being able to deliver products with growing levels of ambiguity
Experience at putting together product plans, leading teams, and bringing products to market
Experience with building systems at scale with high operational focus
Excellent written and communication skills
Experience at dealing with ambiguity and driving to dates
