Snagajob is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to help our more than 100+ million registered hourly workers and 470,000 employer locations find hourly jobs and workers on our platform. As a Sr. Business Analyst - Marketplace, you will build insights through quantitative analysis to inform new strategies and optimize existing ones. The ideal candidate for this position can communicate moderately complex analysis to all audiences and will work with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams across Snagajob to help us better serve both workers and employers. The main responsibilities of the role include monitoring of job posting inventory and active workers at a hyperlocal level, and providing insights and actionable recommendations to product and marketing on how to balance the marketplace better, and extract higher yield from it.
The Sr. Business Analyst will perform analysis, develop frameworks, measure the impact of changes, and make iterative improvements to help match our job inventory to our network of workers and vice-versa. This position will balance the relative volume of jobs and jobseekers across our platform and play a key role in influencing priorities across the organization to drive greater growth and revenue. A successful candidate should have a strong quantitative skill set, be comfortable with statistics and have previous analytical experience. A successful candidate will have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to translate data and insights into business results and revenue growth.
This role will be based in our Richmond, VA office.
What You Get to Do
Develop and maintain a forecast of the relative level of job postings and job seeker activity at the DMA/MSA market, vertical and industry level.
Manage the addition of new employer postings to balance market dynamics and optimize jobseeker conversion rate
Monitor the performance of employer orders to maximize revenue opportunities
Monitor yield on the site to ensure that we are generating the maximum amount of performance from our jobseeker traffic and provide tactical recommendations when we are out of balance (over/under active works for active job postings)
Partner internally with Marketing, SEO, PPC/Paid Traffic, Sales and Client Services to improve market performance
Interface with the various product teams to prioritize backlog and project initiatives to drive greater growth and efficiency within the overall Snagajob posting ecosystem
What You’ll Bring
Degree in economics, computer science, decision science, engineering or other quantitative disciplines
2+ years of experience working with very large datasets, very strong analytical and technical skills (SQL, Excel) and the ability to create data driven solutions
Experience developing scalable solutions for increasing and forecasting yield
A natural leader who can develop solid professional relationships across numerous stakeholder teams and manage competing priorities
An influencer, capable of distilling analytical insights down to actionable recommendations and communicating those recommendations
Experience with marketplace preferred
Experience with big data platforms or programming (Python, R, SAS) a plus
