Opportunity
 
While we’ve seen the rise of online delivery apps, delivery makes up less than 10% of the restaurant market. The rest — takeout and dine-in — remains offline, anonymous, and on the verge of disruption. There is a $600B opportunity to make offline takeout and dine-in transactions digital, social, and mobile, and we’re leading this movement. We started on college campuses and are now bringing Snackpass to every college campus and city in the country. 

About the Role ✨

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Hardware Team and help us define the next generation of Snackpass product lineup. The Mechanical Engineer will work on creating, testing and delivering our suite of hardware products that reimagines the user experience for the future of dining and food ordering experience. We have a fast growing list of hardware offerings including self-service kiosks and digital display solutions that have been deployed to our restaurant partners. You’ll work directly with our hardware lead.

What you'll be working on 💻

  • Help ideate and define our hardware roadmap for current and future product lineup.
  • Take ownership of our product design sprints and prototyping cycles.
  • Develop product requirements documentation and spec drawings to go from prototyping to mass manufacturing (DFM/DFA and GD&T).
  • Develop kiosk troubleshooting and testing setup for both production and in-service devices.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers for product development (US/Overseas). 
  • Work across the full product lifecycle from concept to shipping product.
  • Work closely with our Product, Onboarding, Sales and Supply Chain teams to deliver a word class hardware experience to our restaurant partners.

About you 🤝

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ yrs of experience in prototyping and product development in consumer electronics and/or hardware enclosures preferred. 
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing and rapid prototyping processes.
  • 3D CAD Experience (Onshape preferred).
  • Preferred if based in the Bay Area (NorCal), but remote OK.
  • Data driven approach to problem solving.
  • Great communication and organization skills.
  • Able to prioritize and juggle a variety of tasks.
