Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Eligibility Platform team. The Eligibility Platform team is responsible for backend systems and APIs to manage membership coverage. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a group of talented engineers, leading the team’s technical roadmap, and driving project execution.  

What you will do:

In this role, you will provide: 

Team Leadership:

    • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Develop and implement strategies to motivate team members, promote professional growth, and ensure high levels of engagement and performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where diverse perspectives are valued and contribute to creative problem-solving.

Project Management:

    • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to define project requirements, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
    • Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.

Technical Expertise:

    • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
    • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design scalable, reliable, and efficient systems that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Partner closely with product management to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
    • Collaborate with design teams to translate product requirements into intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience.
    • Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish testing strategies, ensure product quality, and drive continuous improvement in software development processes.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.
    • Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and other departments, facilitating communication, resolving conflicts, and ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
    • Advocate for engineering initiatives and priorities, articulating their value and impact on the business to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

What you will bring to SmithRx:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and departments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation.
