Job Title: Team Lead
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the warehouse operations is operating efficiently and productively. This role will take lead on shift tasks and support the guidance from the Warehouse Supervisor to drive efficiency and productivity in coordination with leadership and warehouse floor team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows warehouse operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading activities, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, packaging, and sending shipment status information. 
  • Operates a forklift (or other equipment) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.  
  • Responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties. 
  • Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.  
  • Evaluates, prioritizes, deploys, and completes the daily work. 
  • Picks, packs, and ships orders accurately and efficiently. 
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workspace. 
  • Puts away missed picks and cancelled orders daily. 
  • Ensure workstations are stocked with supplies and tools. 
  • Trains all new hires within their area of responsibility.  
  • Reinforces SOPs and best practices. Provides coaching as needed to ensure a high level of productivity and efficiency is achieved. 
  • Performs the packaging supplies inventory for the assigned areas weekly. 
  • Communicates all issues to the appropriate management person.  
  • Leads the team professionally and with a positive attitude. 
  • Completes other duties as assigned by Warehouse Leadership. 

“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required. 
  • Knowledge of shipping process and equipment.  
  • Proven record of accomplishment in taking initiative to accomplish tasks in a creative way with a sense of urgency and assertiveness. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), web navigation and basic hardware experience (IE: Ship stations). 
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with employees.     
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
