POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Facilities Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and operation of the warehouse facilities, with a specific focus on engine room oversight and ammonia refrigeration systems. This role ensures that all facility systems are operating efficiently and safely while managing the maintenance team and general warehouse maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, including ammonia refrigeration, and possess excellent supervisory and organizational skills. This person also needs to be initiative-taking and action oriented with a proactive approach to maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and maintain engine room operations, ensuring all equipment is functioning efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair equipment as needed.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the equipment including boilers, generators, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards are met.
- Oversee the operations and maintenance of ammonia systems.
- Implement safety protocols for handling and storage of ammonia.
- Oversee the routine checks and maintenance on refrigeration units to prevent leaks and ensure optimal performance.
- Train staff on proper ammonia handling procedures and emergency response.
- Responsible for day-to-day oversight on maintenance of equipment within the warehouse to include installations, inspections, repairs, service scheduling, calibrating, and more.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all warehouse equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate and oversee projects ensuring minimal disruption to the warehouse operations.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order replacements as needed.
- Conduct regulatory facility inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare, and manage budget, tracking expenses and optimizing cost efficiency.
- May be required to arrange or clean areas or partitions within the warehouse.
- Responsible for operating forklift, skid loader, tractor, and other heavy-duty equipment at times.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Highschool diploma or equivalency. Technical degree or certification preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 in a supervisory role and in a warehouse setting.
- 2 or more years of mechanical experience and the ability to operate heavy equipment i.e., forklift, skid loader, tractor, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, and ammonia refrigeration.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Must be able to lift, pull, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to use technical systems and operation be skilled in Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of Process Safety management (PSM) preferred.
