Smartsheet is looking for an Associate People Business Partner to join our growing People & Culture (P&C) team. You will partner directly within your assigned client group to support People Business Partners and our developing leaders. You will report to the Manager, People Partners Sales Team. 

You will:

  • Provide support and guidance to employees and managers to help interpret policies, and resolve a variety of employee relations and performance issues.
  • Ensure updates to existing and new P&C programs are communicated and implemented in the organizations you support
  • Review People practices, ensuring consistent application of our programs and mitigating risk with sound judgement and recommendations
  • Participate on project teams supporting implementation of P&C programs and initiatives
  • Partner with the Manager and PBP team on executing change management and communication plans
  • Actively participate and collaborate with P&C Centers Of Excellence (COE) and PBP team with initiatives and strategies that drive organizational health such as: performance management, talent reviews, employee engagement, change management, etc.
  • Partner with managers and our Compensation team to define and evaluate new positions, as well as revisions to existing roles as needed
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing data and building visual tools to share metrics with the business, supporting PBPs in goal setting against established People objectives and initiatives
  • Participate in talent assessments, workforce planning and other strategic initiatives
  • Contributes to HR processes, policies and procedures and propose changes or updates as needed
  • Provide operational and transactional support to the PBP team and leaders
  • Fill in as interim coverage for PBP team as needed

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive education/experience in HR or related fields 
  • Experience in employee relations preferred
  • General knowledge of HR disciplines and business processes
  • Project management and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively interact and partner with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience delivering presentations and facilitating workshops to various audience levels within an organization
  • Strong critical thinking skills and business acumen
  • Knowledge of employment law and risk management 
  • Ability to quickly build relationships to influence the accomplishment of organizational goals
  • Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential matters
  • Ability to consolidate information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions
