The Enterprise Systems team manages the development, use, and support of Enterprise Applications. Smartsheet is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to help deliver stable, high quality applications and integrations by driving quality throughout the development lifecycle. The QA engineer will familiarize themselves with business requests, technical specifications, and be able to plan and execute the full test approach, while communicating with both the development team and stakeholders clearly and effectively. 

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Systems Development and is based at Smartsheet headquarters in Bellevue, WA.


  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to plan end to end quality assurance approach
  • Review vendor system upgrade release notes to review impact and propose regression and release specific test cases
  • Design and execute a variety of detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans (manual, automatic, functional, non-functional, system, integration, regression, performance, etc.) for complex systems and primary business processes
  • Interact with third parties as applicable for additional testing
  • Troubleshoot and carry out root cause analysis on production issues, adhering to appropriate SLA’s and, as appropriate, file bugs with the development team to take action
  • Record test progress and report out QA metrics (testability, test coverage, test health), risk analysis for projects and production issues, communicating both with internal teams and management on status
  • Participate in code and design reviews of the developers to provide feedback
  • Participating in change management process, reviewing changes and signing off on any tests prior to management sign off and production release
  • Work with the development team to design and execute against scalable test automation
  • Build and maintain test library for all integrations and systems supported by the Enterprise Systems team
  • Create comprehensive testing documentation, standard operating practices, and streamline overall testing processes
  • Administer Enterprise System owned test environments, and serve as the primary point of contact with other teams and associated  test environments including coordinating environment refreshes 
  • Work with Enterprise System team to recommend and innovate test approaches and methods to improve and monitor core processes


  • BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience 
  • 4+ years in a SDET / QA role 
  • Prior experience with quality assurance and knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and test approaches 
  • Creativity and initiative for improving product test coverage and effectiveness 
  • Skills in diagnosing and solving complex problems
  • Experience working with cloud-based integration platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile & Waterfall Software Development
