About the Role

As a Product Manager at SmartRent, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our Smart Apartments platform. This isn't just about building software; it's about revolutionizing how apartment communities operate. You'll leverage the power of our IoT solutions to streamline and automate key workflows, from leasing and resident onboarding to maintenance and operations. You'll dive deep into customer needs and industry trends,  translate them into a strategic product roadmap, and drive execution to deliver impactful solutions that enhance efficiency and elevate the resident experience.

In this role, you'll own the entire product development lifecycle, from brainstorming innovative ideas to collaborating with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to bring those ideas to life. You'll be a champion for our users, conducting user research and translating their needs into detailed product specifications and user stories.  You'll be expected to push the boundaries of what's possible with our technology, while maintaining a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Responsibilities

  • Drive product development from existing feature enhancements to entirely new epics
  • Collect and translate business requirements into solution and implementation specs containing thorough acceptance criteria
  • Work hands-on with designers to constantly iterate and improve the UI/UX
  • Attend scrums, retrospectives and planning meetings while taking detailed notes with clearly defined action items
  • Participate in agile activities such as backlog grooming, feature prioritization and sprint planning
  • Define and ensure user acceptance and testing criteria is captured and followed throughout the QA
  • Maintain a direct line of communication with key customers.
  • Work closely with support, operations and sales to understand and address existing friction points
  • Aggregate feedback from all channels to drive priority
  • Create exciting release notes for internal teams and end users
  • Build and maintain user personas, journey maps and product roadmaps
  • Assist our design team in the creation of product prototypes, wireframes and mockups
  • Maintain internal training tools, user guides and knowledge base articles
  • Communicate effectively with all internal teams and external entities teams to set accurate expectations and proper timelines for product delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related technical degree
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, Associate Product Manager, and/or Jr. Product Manager capacity
  • Highly analytical and diligent personality with ability to constantly solve problems and quickly plan out new features
  • Expertise in researching, defining and documenting complex business processes
  • Ability to understand customer needs, business goals and competitive pressures with the ability to convert those into technical documents.
  • High aptitude to proactively develop customer relationships by empathizing, understanding, anticipating, and providing solutions to customer needs.
  • Experience defining a product roadmap and prioritizing features based on end user needs
  • Successful track record of collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite or similar software
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Figma, Sketch, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Prototyping
  • Must be passionate about the business with a constant desire to learn more and improve the user experience!
