Job Description

As Senior Copywriter, you’ll play a key role as SmartRent’s go-to writer for creating copy that converts prospects into leads. Key responsibilities will include creating compelling content that helps to generate increased marketing qualified leads, building SmartRent’s sales pipeline. You’ll also serve as a trusted partner to SmartRent’s internal teams, collaborating on content needs that further the Company’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Turn data into stories that sell and generate qualified leads across multiple channels: Become the storytelling superhero who transforms dry data into marketing magic.
    • Digital and print ads that grab attention: Create eye-catching advertisements that stop scrollers in their tracks and make them think, "Wow, tell me more!"  
    • Video scripts that bring our story to life: Design scripts that transform complex tech into compelling narratives that feel more like a blockbuster than a product pitch.
    • Event materials that make an impact: Produce memorable collateral that leaves attendees thinking, "These folks aren't just selling a solution—they're revolutionizing an industry." 
    • Email campaigns that nurture leads: Develop strategic email content that guides potential customers through the sales funnel with the precision of a GPS and the charm of a best friend.
    • Website copy that converts: Write web content so persuasive, it practically clicks the "demo" button for your audience.
    • Newsletters that people want to read: Create newsletter content so engaging, it's the email subscribers actually look forward to receiving.
    • Collaborate with internal teams: Be the communication bridge that turns cross-departmental collaboration from a corporate buzzword into a superpower.
  • You are the voice behind our SaaS and IoT solutions: Translate complex technological concepts into language so clear, even your non-tech-savvy parents will understand what we do.
  • Work hand-in-hand with digital marketing, demand gen, design and product marketing teams: Be the secret sauce that ensures our messaging is so consistent, it could be mistaken for telepathy.
  • Apply A/B testing and use data to make copy better: Become a data detective, using insights to continuously level up your content game.
  • Create content that builds our brand authority and makes B2B audiences trust us: Develop content that doesn't just speak to our audience—it becomes the trusted advisor they can't live without.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines: Juggle projects with the grace of a circus performer and the precision of a Swiss watch.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field— or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of B2B copywriting experience, preferably with a focus on technology or SaaS
  • Proven track record of creating high-converting marketing campaigns
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating professional copywriting across multiple formats
  • Deep understanding of marketing funnels and conversion optimization
  • Solid grasp of B2B buyer journey and sales cycles
  • Ability to transform positioning statements into compelling benefits
  • Strong collaborative skills working across multiple teams 
  • Excellent project management skills with consistent deadline delivery
  • Driven by results 
  • Experience in performance tracking

Preferred Qualifications

  • You know PropTech, smart home technology, or multifamily industry
  • You can write for SEO like a pro 
  • You’ve written for SaaS or IoT before
  • You understand how multifamily properties work
  • You’re familiar with or have used Hive project management 
  • You know your way around HubSpot
  • You’ve used Sanity before
