Are you interested in being a strategic part of an international legal team in a high-growth technology company? We are looking for a sharp, humble, and agile person to join our legal team as a legal counsel in Helsinki.

You will be a part of our global legal team and report directly to the Group’s General Counsel. 

Please note that the position will be filled either in the Americas or in Finland.

As a Legal Counsel at Smartly, You Will:

  • Prepare, draft, review, and negotiate customer, partner, and vendor contracts and other legal documents
  • Handle administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in the business
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and reduce potential areas of risk
  • Provide strategic business-oriented advice guidance and support to our sales, customer success, product and engineering, leadership, finance, people, and operations teams
  • Drive the continuous improvement of our legal processes

What We’re Looking For:

  • A law degree and an active license in your jurisdiction of practice, that is in good standing for the entire period.
  • 3+ years of experience with a broad range of legal areas.
  • Specific experience with SaaS and online advertising related legal issues is desirable.
  • Experience in commercial contracts and data protection is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly to senior business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong deal-making skills, encompassing more than just legal negotiations—the ability to drive business outcomes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adeptness at handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach—willingness to contribute to various tasks and topics as needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Availability to work from our Helsinki office at least three days per week.
