About the role:
Smartbear is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales  to drive revenue as part of our API Core North American Sales Team. As a Senior Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading a team of 3 direct line leaders within the Somerville sales organization. A successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading a team of sales managers or enterprise sales executives, achieving, and exceeding targets and working collaboratively with cross- functional teams in a high velocity environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow API Team revenue globally.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to drive sales strategies and positioning.
  • Build and Lead a team of sales managers, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team targets.  Capable of recruiting top performers and driving a high performance team of sellers and managers.
  • Manage the sales cycle, ensuring a high level of quality throughout and ultimately delivering or exceeding Plan quarter over quarter.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cross-selling functions and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to executive leadership, internally and exernally.

We are looking for you if you have:

  • 3+ years of Strategic Sales Leadership experience
  • Software sales experience required, experience selling into the software development space preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing revenue in N.A. or globally through direct and indirect channels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Oversee weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning activities including forecasting, pipeline management and effectiveness Oversee cross-departmental coordination to increase customer retention.
  • Help drive strategic initiatives and program improvement related to infrastructure, workflows, processes, CSM development
  • Develop staffing plans and hiring of new team members as needed; including forecasting and determining future needs
  • Within commuting distance to our headquarters in Somerville, MA
