Product Owner – Platform Services

  • This role provides the opportunity to engage in driving the creation of the set of rapidly growing services connecting the product portfolio of a high velocity, growing business.
  • It offers the chance to innovate with a talented and passionate cross-functional team the next set of technical infrastructure that enables customers to more easily, try, buy, and manage our products.

We are building a set of services to connect SmartBear products and enable customers to get more value from our products.  We are combining best in breed applications with innovative software we’re creating to construct the infrastructure for authentication and authorization, enabling customer organizations, online and sales-assisted selling, and facilitating product led growth.

About the role:
As a Product Owner you will be responsible for translating customer needs into technical requirements.  You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the product through turning our product vision and strategy into realized product capabilities. You will be working with UX, Engineering, and Architecture team members daily to ensure that product capabilities meet the needs of our internal and external customers.

  • Understand users and their job to be done: You will participate in market research and experiments to understand your customers, the problems they are trying to solve, the outcomes they expect, and the solutions we can provide.
  • Maintain and communicate product vision and strategy: You will prioritize customer needs within the defined product strategy by working closely with key stakeholders in product management, marketing, and sales.
  • Influence Product roadmap: You will translate customer needs into product capabilities through backlog grooming, rigorous prioritization, and collaboration with leaders in product, engineering and UX.
  • Define well-articulated user stories: You will break down complex features and capabilities into bite-sized deliverables with well written user stories, and acceptance criteria that the engineering team can work with.
  • Determine acceptance of what we build: Facilitate demos and review acceptance criteria for the specified requirements.
  • Measure successes and failures: You will define success criteria and measure everything you do - metrics are key!
  • Keep a close eye on business goals: You will work with Product leadership to ensure that we deliver on our business goals.

 We are looking for you if you have:

  • Up to 2 years of product management experience
  • Outstanding organizational abilities as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to think logically, critically, and constructively about complex problems and communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Built and shipped products working collaboratively with engineering and UX in an agile environment
  • Managed a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, customers, and partners
  • A laser-like focus on creating value for customers and removing friction for engineering teams
