About you: 

The ideal candidate is a charismatic, creative, and detail-oriented individual who is obsessed with solving their client’s problems. Are you energized by complex, multi-variable negotiations?  Do you have a proven track record of building and maintaining deep client relationships at the Executive level within Financial Service organizations?  Do you have a proven track record of building new partnerships with large RIA’s?  You may be the data-driven storyteller we are looking for.   


  • Building new partnerships with large advisory organizations, broker/dealers, and asset management platforms
  • Making outbound calls, responding to email queries, and building new enterprise level  relationships
  • Conducting your own research to identify new potential partnership opportunities, and earning introductions to influential decision makers within large financial service organizations
  • Providing detailed information to prospective customers and educating prospects on the features and benefits of SmartAsset’s SmartAdvisor Growth Platform
  • Understanding how the Cash Solicitation rule impacts our business, and how the Legal & Compliance departments at advisory firms think about our platform under the solicitor rule
  • Stay abreast of relevant trends that could impact our business or create new opportunities
  • Assist in the management and growth of the new partnerships that you work to build by partnering with the Enterprise Account Management team

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of Sales or Business Development experience in financial services experience - experience in a B2B sales/consulting role preferred
  • Able to prospect business development opportunities from start to close
  • Excellent writing skills and comfortable creating PowerPoint presentations
  • Self-motivated and disciplined; able to work effectively with limited supervision
  • Strong client focus and a track record of exceeding client expectations
  • Quick learner; always eager to better understand your industry and market
  • Team player who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities, with a high degree of self-confidence
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent time-management skills
  • Comfortable in the fast-paced, high growth environment of a startup
  • Obsessed with adding value and removing obstacles throughout the sales process
  • An existing book of business, or client relationships strongly preferred
