Smarkets is a tech company with the aim to disrupt the betting industry by providing a fair, competitive betting exchange platform, where users can trade against each other. We are continuously developing new features for all of these platforms or in the backend, to improve performance, scalability and usability.

Example project for the Marketing team

Our Marketing team works very closely with Front-End and Design teams, enabling them to provide better and personalised experiences to our users. Since we have thousands of active events on our website, It becomes really crucial to filter-out the right events for the user, tailoring the experience to suit their behaviour.

The Marketing team owns and maintains the service which empowers the website. We take into consideration various parameters like volume traded, velocity of a market, user's favourites to name a few to come up with better experience. This service also enables our in-house experts to control the user experience through an internal admin page. This service is ever evolving and in the near future, we plan on introducing machine learning to come up with highly personalised home-page experience for our users.

What you'll be doing

As a product engineer in the marketing team, you will work closely with the front-end and design teams to engineer new user-facing features. Most recently we have designed a new system for categorising and ranking anything in the Smarkets ecosystem, to deliver the best content for any category to display in our products. We currently enable ranking by metrics such as traded volume or date of creation, and are looking to expand to use machine learning models to tailor content to specific user interests!
