SENIOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER- El Segundo, CA
As an Electrical Test Engineer on the System Test Team you will design and produce hardware solutions for our rapidly expanding portfolio of fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms. This includes designing, integrating, and maintaining both system and component level test equipment that will support the testing of actuators, avionics, and flight control computers.The role involves collaboration with other engineers, flight test, external partners and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives. You will be in a hands-on lab environment, while also supporting aircraft-level testing, working to bring our vision to life.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with hardware design team to implement automated test equipment for acceptance test procedures (ATPs) of flight control computers, motor controllers, actuators, and avionics.
- Design and build equipment to support System Integration Lab (SIL)
- Perform system-level integration and troubleshooting
- Work with Certification Engineers to conform test setups
- Define maintenance and calibration requirements for component test equipment and system integration lab.
- Aid in the assembly, automation, and maintenance of component test equipment.
- Define and develop the test procedures based on defined requirements to support testing needs and allow growth for the future
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5+ years of professional working experience
- Experience in designing and releasing engineering schematics, harness drawings, etc.
- Hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly and/or testing (can be in a professional, academic, entrepreneurial, or hobby setting).
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Able to work in a highly dynamic environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with aerospace hardware design
- Experience with PCB design
- 10+ years of professional working experience
- High proficiency with AutoCAD and Solidworks CAD
- Experience building up and maintaining aerospace lab environments
