Skylo's focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows for machines at work across critical industries such as agriculture, maritime, logistics, mining, and others, in addition to mass-market consumer devices.

Skylo Technologies is hiring a Mobile Core Engineer to join our Network Engineering and Planning team to implement Skylo's vision of building out a carrier-grade worldwide Satellite IOT network. This role will be highly cross-functional, working across the network engineering, wireless systems, and network operations teams. Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design Skylo’s 3GPP satellite production core network deployment and its associated interfaces according to features, capacity and availability requirements
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deploy and configure the satellite core network
  • Define, collect monitoring and analytics data to perform capacity and performance management and planning
  • Design, set requirements, and validate core network integrations with partner MNO/MVNOs and enterprise customers
  • Support local market regulatory requirement integrations such as lawful intercept services
  • Provide technical domain support to Skylo’s operations teams as required
  • Provide detailed and quantifiable feedback to product engineering and product management teams to enhance network performance and quality
  • Hold vendors accountable to features, SLAs on network performance and service quality
  • Provide subject matter knowledge in the areas of licensed LTE/5G mobile packet core, security, and virtualization solutions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent technical discipline is preferred
  • 5+ years of related network systems engineer experience 
  • Experience with core system interfaces and protocols such as S1-MME, S1-U, S6a, S11, S5/S8, Rx, NAS, S1-AP, RRC, GTPv2c, GTP-U, SGd/SMPP
  • Knowledge of Policy and Charging elements within the packet core; PCEF, PCRF, PAS,OFCS, OCS
  • Knowledge of GTPv2, Diameter, LDAP protocol & AVPs
  • Knowledge of 3GPP Mobility Specifications applicable to Packet Core Infrastructure Nodes; GGSN, SGW, PGW, PCRF
  • Working experience in Lab testing and IOT testing is preferred
  • Startup experience
  • Highly collaborative, with excellent communication skills
