Skylo is hiring a Carrier Certification Manager/ Carrier Certification Sr. Engineer to help fulfill Skylo’s vision of cellular devices roaming seamlessly across satellites, so that you’re never ‘out of coverage’ again. You will join our Quality and Standards team to pave the way for devices to access a new class of ubiquitous connectivity through performance certification. You will leverage your understanding of RF systems, device manufacturing, and regulatory compliance to build Skylo’s network certification ecosystem. Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operate Skylo’s carrier certification program for devices operating on Skylo’s network and for chipsets enabling such devices
  • Create an ecosystem of partner test facilities to perform device and/or chipset/module certifications against Skylo’s carrier specifications.
  • Coordinate with Skylo’s partners to facilitate the certification testing and type approval of their satellite-enabled devices
  • Contribute to industry-wide testing standardization efforts via 3GPP and ATIS
  • Define wireless system performance metrics and the associated evaluation techniques
  • Maintain regulatory and certification requirements for devices across network geographies

Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience in RF qualification or certification testing and an in-depth understanding of RF test equipment and facilities
  • Experience taking new wireless devices through the process of type approval and certification for use on North American and/or European carrier networks
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with RF systems, both design and certification
  • Experience working with wireless device certification test houses
  • Highly collaborative, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
