Director of Sales, North America (Enterprise)

Our network serves unconnected machines, sensors and IoT devices on farms, roadways, borders, mountains, and oceans. We’re a team that’s mission-oriented and focused on operating a highly efficient, reliable, end-to-end machine & sensor data mobility service on a global basis. Skylo has raised an aggregate of $116M and is preparing for notable scaling globally in 2021. 

Skylo Technologies is hiring a Director of Sales to be based in our Palo Alto HQ, responsible for Direct Sales in North America: driving sales against aggregated region quota, while owning strategic large account and OEM relationships for product success in the geography. This outcome-oriented outward role requires a strong enterprise sales background for identifying and closing high volume sales for Skylo’s solution, and making customers successful. Role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.


  • Build the sales momentum in North America, focusing strategic large accounts and OEM relationships 
  • Build the direct GTM, by identifying the key segments, the key geographies, and the key accounts for initial success in the market
  • Take full responsibility for account management, engaging with stakeholders at various levels to further customer and Skylo interests, creating a win win situation
  • Accurately and diligently qualify, prioritize and pursue opportunities within each target segment 
  • Build and nurture a regional sales team, as the business evolves
  • Focus on the long term, but also bring in the quick wins to scale up the business
  • Provide regular (weekly, monthly and quarterly) and accurate sales forecasts, including targets vs achievements, and plans to achieve quarterly targets
  • Ensure (at the minimum) achievement of sales targets
  • Ensure end customer activation of subscription services, timely payments and collections
  • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders across product, engineering, pre-sales, implementation and finance teams to accurately and timely capture customer requirements and ensure effective implementation and payment collections 
  • Stay updated on market trends, customer priorities and use cases, and share necessary market feedback into the organization - that will help contribute to our business strategy for North America


  • Prior sales experience with connected technology products, and enterprise software is preferred 
  • Previous success in achieving & exceeding quota for high volume sales in a recurring revenue business 
  • Prior experience hiring and managing teams towards successful outcomes
  • Evidence of being outcome-oriented with the highest degree of tenacity and commitment - holding themself and their team accountable to timelines & quota 
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills at CXO and other levels in an organization
  • Previous experience in a fast-moving startup environment is preferred 
  • Ability to work across time zones
  • Exceptional communication skills 
  • Highly collaborative, with a history of successful sales leadership
