About the job

Since launching several years ago, our team has grown rapidly. We find ourselves in an exciting position to further deepen our partnerships within the government contracting space, to continue to attract and retain amazing teammates, and to scale our capacity to make an even bigger difference in the world. 

Currently, our company is organized into three main groups: Executive Office (sets and operationalizes the strategic direction of the company), Human Services (focused on clients such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and Defense Services (focused on clients such as the U.S. Air Force).

As an Operations Manager reporting directly to Skylight’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), you’ll play a critical role in managing our day-to-day operations and finding ways to continually improve how we run the business. The work you do will have a direct impact on our ability to sustain and grow a healthy company.

What you’ll do

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for tasks and projects across a number of different operational functions, including finance, accounting, contract management, corporate compliance, people ops, communications, and growth
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the COO, including direct support and assistance as needed
  • Continually monitor the operational state of the company, including the flow of information, to strategically ensure the COO’s engagement in critical activities, projects, or decisions
  • Prepare, analyze, and share operational-related reports, from contract burn rates to security awareness training compliance
  • Create and maintain collaborative relationships across the company’s stakeholder landscape, including teaming partners and customers, to enable operational excellence
  • Organize and lead recurring and ad-hoc meetings, typically with senior leaders and managers within the organization
  • Bring together multiple stakeholders to help drive timely action and quality decisions
  • Represent the operations team in corporate-level working groups
  • Manage the life cycle of company documents, including creation, updates, and archival
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Ensure that essential operational systems data are up-to-date and accurate
  • Ensure all operational processes and systems are running smoothly
  • Ensure all changes to our core operational processes and systems follow the company’s operational change control procedures
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve how we operate internally, including policy updates
  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and positive work environment through all forms of interaction

Minimum qualifications

  • Prior experience working in the government contracting space
  • Prior experience working in professional services
  • Experience collaborating with a variety of business functions such as people ops, finance, marketing, business development, etc.
  • Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision

  • Highly resourceful, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task

Salary

The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000.
