About the role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will lead a team of Product Managers that own the following:
- Next Generation Drone: working closely with our hardware team, you will guide the definition and development of our next generation drone.
- Flight experience: both our dedicated enterprise controller and our android/iOS based controller apps
- Situational awareness: autonomous flight functionality that supports our situational awareness customers, including Defense and First Responders.

How you'll make an impact:
- Engage with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to understand core business problems and develop visions and strategies to solve them
- Continually develop and refine the roadmap for Skydio’s vehicle hardware, software, and mobile applications
- Work closely with designers and engineering leaders spanning hardware, firmware, computer vision, AI, and machine learning to execute on our product vision and deliver a first-class user experience, while also pushing the envelope on new technology opportunities in the product space
- Capture, document, and distill feedback from customers and prospects to continually steer product development
- Collaborate closely with sales and customer success to build and maintain close customer relationships and ensure success
- Partner with product marketing to develop launch plans and product positioning and messaging
- Hire, lead and mentor a stellar team of Product Managers, with the opportunity to scale the Product Management team as Skydio continues to grow
What makes you a good fit:
- 10+ years of proven success in defining and delivering market-leading software products, including specific experience leading development of compelling user-facing software for complex, electronic hardware products. Drone experience is a plus but not required.
- 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring other product managers
- Detail-oriented with exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Experience developing complex, multi-year product strategies where first principles thinking and great judgment are just as important as analytics and data
- Direct or indirect experience with engineering that allows you to actively participate in deep discussions with engineers on complex technical architectures challenges and tradeoffs.
- Dedicated team player who strives to enable others to do their best work
- A passion for speaking with -- and learning from -- customers
- An advanced degree or an MBA would be a plus, but is not required
- This role will be driving the development of products for our military customers, and is subject to a government contract that requires Skydio to limit this position to candidates with US Citizenship. Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $187,000 - 295,625*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
