Simtra BioPharma Solutions, a premier contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Communications to support our organization’s communication strategies and initiatives. As a key member of our Marketing and Communication team, the Senior Manager of Communications will play a critical role in shaping our brand identity, enhancing our corporate reputation and driving engagement with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset. This is a full-time position based in our Parsippany, NJ office. The position reports directly to the Director of Communications.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives, including identifying target audiences, defining key messages, and selecting appropriate communication channels
  • Internal Communication: Develop and execute internal communication strategies to engage and inform employees at all levels of the organization, including developing content for newsletters, email communications, intranet, and company-wide town hall meetings
  • Media Relations:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers
    • Proactively seek opportunities for media coverage and manage media inquiries effectively
    • Prepare press releases and other materials as needed. Monitor media coverage and prepare reports
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistency across all communication channels and materials
  • Measurement and Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts. Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics

 

What you'll bring:

  • BS in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field (preferably in the Biotech, pharma, and/or medical device industry)
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies and campaigns]
  • Strong understanding of evolving technology and communication platforms
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (including PowerPoint), SharePoint, graphic design, and internal video storytelling]
  • Advanced proficiency in analytics to measure communications metrics and tools to measure outcomes
  • Experience with social medial and internal tools for building out social media visibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences
  • Ability to create long-form content and real-time (immediate) content
  • Demonstrated public relations and communication skills, with a particular focus on experience working with the top-tier and trade media, including developing pitches, managing positive and negative news stories, building relationships with reporters and driving for results
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align communication efforts with organizational goals and objectives
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and conflict while maintaining productive relationships
  • Ability to influence peers and senior management without direct authority
  • Experience directly engaging with senior management with minimal oversight
  • Occasional travel (10%) may be required for events, travel, and media opportunities
