As a private-equity-backed, hyper-growth IoT leader, SimpliSafe has made building a world class fully internationalized e-commerce platform a Board level priority.  We are in the very early stages of building this capability and are looking for a hands-on technical leader to drive this initiative and lead the team to get it done.  This is a unique opportunity to design and build an integrated solution for a proven market leader. 

In this role, you will:

Manage and drive SimpliSafe’s Ecommerce Platform. In addition to leading all technical aspects of the platform, you will also partner with marketing and other stakeholders within engineering to define, develop and implement SimpliSafe’s Ecommerce platform.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading SimpliSafe’s Ecommerce engineering team
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of engineering managers
  • Establish best practices with the emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the Ecommerce engineering team’s impact on key technical and business metrics
  • Manage and identify risk, dependencies, and remove blockers as needed
  • Collaborate with product owners to develop the Ecommerce roadmap and to translate business requirements into technical implementations
  • Create a technical vision for the Ecommerce Platform

You should:

  • Be excited to join SimpliSafe’s collaborative, no-ego approach to getting work done
  • Have a proven track record of success architecting and implementing Ecommerce solutions
  • Have at least 10 years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading multiple teams
  • Be able to get work done through others, but be willing to dive in when needed
  • Have experience with modern technologies like React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS 
  • Have experience with A/B testing
  • Have experience with PCI, GDPR, and web accessibility
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a BS / BA in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or Engineering
