SimpliSafe is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, Forecasting & Promotions Analyst who will work within SimpliSafe’s Marketing department to assist with the building, maintaining, and owning of the forecasts of some of the organization's most important metrics. This role will also be responsible for analyzing the performance of our promotions, transforming raw data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.

In this role you’ll develop a keen understanding of customer behavior, create dashboards and reports, build our daily & monthly forecasts, provide ad-hoc analyses and analyze experiments. Your work will involve identifying, gathering, and testing potential forecast drivers, developing a deep end-to-end understanding of planned business activities and their effect on the forecasted variables, layering assumption-driven modifications on top of model outputs, meeting frequently with stakeholders to gather inputs and share results, identifying and exploring drivers of forecast error, publishing monthly forecasts, and tracking forecast accuracy. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in building and maintaining 1 or more different forecasts for critically important variables within SimpliSafe’s eCommerce department
  • Utilize SQL to gather and analyze data for use in the forecasting and promotional analysis processes
  • Investigate and quantify potential drivers of forecast error, present findings, and devise methods to reduce error with each subsequent forecast
  • Analyze historical data and A/B test results to understand promotional performance and recommend improvements for the future, helping to balance sales and profitability
  • Design and create targeted reports and dashboards to answer key strategic questions and uncover new opportunities
  • Deliver forecasts within an accuracy band established with stakeholders and develop and execute a plan for continually improving forecast accuracy over time
  • Develop strong relationships with key partners in eCommerce, media, FP&A, retail, partnerships, and customer marketing teams
  • Be proactive, curious, hungry for answers and able to work both independently and collaboratively

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar quantitative field)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in forecasting and/or data analytics, ideally at an online retailer or digital agency or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience writing and tuning SQL (or similar database query languages) queries and knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with Tableau/Looker (or similar BI platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Solid understanding of statistics and excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Ideally experience working in a consumer products and/or a subscription business
