Software Development Engineer in Test

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to drive software quality through a combination of manual and automated verification. You will be responsible for defining and executing test cases that help identify issues across all Signifyd’s APIs and services.

This position is a remote position out of the Belfast area. For this role, you will be responsible for writing manual and automated tests to help create a more robust and dependable system for our internal and external APIs. This position will be a start to building our QA resources, so you will have influence in decisions and standards being defined as the QA team grows.

The following are some things you will do on a daily basis:

  • Work across multiple groups and teams to formulate a test plan for new and existing API endpoints
  • Write automated tests that can help find any issues when code has changed
  • Write and run manual tests and help diagnose potential problems utilizing tools such as Postman
  • Help define our standards and process for the QA Engineers
  • Work alongside frontend QA to help ensure integration quality between the frontend and backend


  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • 5+ years of writing manual test cases
  • 3+ years of writing automated API tests using Java frameworks
  • Ability to understand how APIs work and understand and be able to communicate any issues or suggestions from a technical perspective
  • Understanding of RESTful services, general HTTP knowledge, including HTTPS, HTTP Headers, Request and Response body, and JSON
  • Demonstratable experience with API documentation tooling such as OpenAPI or Swagger
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate potential problems, alternatives, and use cases
  • Comfortable with being a self-starter and self-motivated
  • Ability to concisely frame problems and propose simple solutions
