About the Role:

Job Title: Engineer - Embedded Software

The embedded software department at Sibros focuses on the in-vehicle software stack, developing highly reliable software that can be easily deployed on a wide range of hardware, operating systems, and vehicle architectures. In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, documenting, and deploying new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for our in-vehicle software that enables connectivity use cases such as Software Deployments, Data Logging, Remote Diagnostics, and much more.

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement, test, release, and maintain embedded software that can easily be deployed on a wide range of hardware, operating systems, and vehicle architectures
  • Perform design and code reviews for team members and inspire them to write high quality code
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve issues reported by customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create plans, identify risks, resolve issues, and deliver product features on schedule
  • Create and contribute to project plans, requirements documents, design documents, test plans, and other documentation

What you should know:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience developing and debugging production-quality C++ software
  • Proficient in C++ programming on resource constrained Linux/POSIX based systems
  • Experience working with modern software development methodologies and tools (Agile, git, unit testing, static analysis, code review, etc.)
  • Great team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Self motivated and able to work independently, take feedback well, and learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with C and Python
  • Experience developing for embedded RTOS and/or Android based systems
  • Familiar with automotive networking and protocols (CAN, Ethernet, UDS, SOME/IP, etc.)
  • Experience with IoT technologies and concepts (MQTT, gRPC, HTTPS, security, OTA software updates, telemetry, etc.)
  • Experience with the following collaboration and development tools: Bazel, Git, JIRA, Confluence, Google Test

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum range for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, benefits, or any discretionary bonus components.
