Field Marketing Specialist

SI-BONE® is focused on helping patients in one of the most under-served, under-diagnosed, and under-treated areas in orthopedics, the sacroiliac (SI) joint. SI-BONE developed an innovative, patented implant to fuse the SI joint. The iFuse Implant System® provides a less invasive alternative to traditional sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion surgery and has been used in over 90,000 procedures to date.

General Responsibilities:

The Field Marketing Specialist will support the business and growth within their defined geography by initiating sales and marketing strategies to drive awareness of iFuse products, and iFuse-trained physicians with the HCP community and general patient community to optimize market penetration for SI-BONE products. S/he will build strong relationships with field sales teams, physician accounts, and account stakeholders, as well as internal Corporate and Digital marketing teams and vendors. The Field Marketing Specialist must at all times act and conduct company business in an honest, ethical, and strictly legal manner, complying with the Code of Conduct, other company policies, the AdvaMed Code and all applicable laws and regulations, whether national, regional, state, or local.

Specific Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Works closely with sales management, territory managers, and territory representatives to identify, support, and execute educational activities within their geographic area using both traditional and digital marketing tactics in partnership with active physician accounts.
  • Proactively works with field sales to identify opportunities to meet quarterly area co-marketing initiative goals.
  • Provides marketing leadership within the geographic area to drive adoption of co-marketing programs among the field sales team. Disseminates best practices amongst Field Marketing team and sales team members.
  • Trains field sales team on the tactical considerations to execute these programs in a strategic and compliant manner, including pre- and post-initiative documentation and budget tracking. Develops training tools and other resources to ensure compliance and budget considerations are met.
  • Leads discussions and grows relationships with surgeon accounts, hospital/ASC administration, and other members of the HCP community to offer programs that support their community educational initiatives driving awareness of SI Joint dysfunction and treatment (iFuse).
  • Supports marketing activities within the specific geography, including identifying unique local market opportunities, including regional sponsorships, group initiatives, or hospital/facility partnerships.
  • Works closely with Corporate and Digital Marketing team members, as well as outside agency partners, to provide direction and assist in creative development for new marketing deliverables. Manages the medical, regulatory, and legal approval process for all new marketing material tactics and deliverables.
  • Drives adoption of digital resources with internal and external customers.
  • Creates and presents Sales Training tools to support development and pull-through of Field Marketing training initiatives for the Commercial organization.
  • Works closely with the territory manager(s) as well as sales management to align priorities and create a sense of urgency to ensure successful endpoints are achieved and timelines are met.
  • Manages all travel & entertainment expenses responsibly and within company outlined operating budgets.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Currently or recently served in a marketing position or business development role of a high-growth specialty surgical practice or medical device or pharmaceutical organization whose offerings are marketed to a medical specialty practice.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns, using traditional, digital, and social platforms, including video.
  • Experience in orthopedics or pain management is desired. Spine experience is preferred.
  • Preferred experience working in a highly-regulated industry with compliance considerations.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well with sales management.
  • Results oriented and customer-focused; demonstrated adaptability and initiative.
  • A demonstrated history of successfully achieving goals, objectives, and high performance.
  • A positive, self-confident, and decisive work ethic with excellent communication skills in both oral and written formats, as well as excellent listening skills.
  • A proactive approach to attacking problems and identifying solutions, displaying initiative and perseverance in order to bring about meaningful change and is open and responsive to new ideas.
  • Known as a person who has high integrity, sound character, a tremendous work ethic, and the passion to succeed
  • 50% travel required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Health Sciences or any related field.
  • 8+ of related / relevant medical device experience
  • Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience in sales or sales support and marketing roles in a defined geographic territory.
  • Experience in marketing and service to hospitals/health care providers preferred.

 

Salary range:  $95,000- $105,000. The compensation range for this position is specific to the location and is in good faith what SI-BONE expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
