Sr. Product Manager - Spine

Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid:  Tuesday through Thursday in-office required.  Not a remote role)

Travel: Up to 30%

Salary range: $145,000- $160,000

SI-BONE® is focused on helping patients in one of the most under-served, under-diagnosed, and under-treated areas in orthopedics, the sacroiliac (SI) joint. SI-BONE developed an innovative, patented implant to fuse the SI joint. The iFuse Implant System® provides a less invasive alternative to traditional sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion surgery and has been used in over 90,000 procedures to date. 

General Responsibilities: 

The Sr. Product Manager will have the primary responsibility to manage product lines from development to commercialization to support the growth of the business through new product introductions worldwide.   This individual will focus on both upstream and downstream product management activities, working closely with cross-functional product development teams to bring products to commercialization.  The successful Product Manager is one who can instill passion and energy into the product development and commercialization process.

The Sr. Product Manager must act and conduct company business in an honest, ethical and strictly legal manner, complying with the Code of Conduct, other company policies, the AdvaMed Code and all applicable laws and regulations, whether national, regional, state or local.  This individual is encouraged, expected and required to report any suspected violations of laws, regulations, the Code or any other Company policy, and all other suspected unethical behavior.  The company does not tolerate retaliation in connection with making good faith reports of suspected violations

Specific Responsibilities:           

  • Marketing Strategy Planning and Execution: Lead the development of spine marketing plans, ensure effective implementation of commercial plans in line with the overall franchise goals and marketing strategy. Conduct rapid sharing of best practices across functions and regions.
  • Commercial Strategy: Lead the development, pilot and implementation of various commercial models including novel distributor models, use of TRs to grow the business, service agreements and product bundling, etc. to maximize the impact to our spine business. 
  • Business Planning: Track brand/market performance of spine solutions, analyze issues and action plan development within defined annual operating plan and assist in the development of the franchise budget (including travel, promotion, advertising, etc.) and plans. 
  • Market (Market Conditions, Customers, Competitors) Analysis: Conduct analysis of competitor activities, customer needs, technology and infrastructure, therapy adoption etc. relevant to own solutions in order to analyze impact of market conditions, guide teams, report back to the domestic and global team & highlight possible modifications to the franchise spine marketing plan.
  • Marketing Communications: Support development of key marketing communications around spine, work closely with agencies and media to develop the right messaging and its delivery; seeking domestic and global approvals; tracking the effectiveness of the communication to drive differentiation for our spine solutions.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Establish relationships with KOLs in the field; create relationships with SI-BONE sales and marketing counterparts; Identify key champions internally and externally; develop support structure and relationship with sales representatives and sales management; and lead customer events.
  • Training: Develop global training objectives and deliverable plan in partnership with the training team. Ensure dissemination of the marketing collateral to sales teams and provide guidance on spine solution queries. 
  • Sales Communication: Own content schedule, content development, and execution. Responsible for tracking key metrics, sales force awareness, and understanding of communicated content.
  • Collaboration: Ensure alignment, with cross-functional counterparts on marketing strategy, tools and content, customer targeting, sales training, co-marketing of meetings and events activities and technology development priorities.
  • Support the SI-BONE Quality System.

Educational Requirements:

  •   Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 7years of experience; or Master’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience.

Expertise:

  • 7+ years of product management, product marketing or sales experience, ideally in the medical device industry (a plus if in spine or ortho).
  • Hands-on experience in fast-growth commercial environment. Experience with both large (established) and small companies a plus. 
  • Superior written and verbal communicator coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills. Strong presentation skills are critical.
  • Able to work in a high-performing team environment and possess a demonstrated ability to multi-task and accommodate changing priorities within compressed timelines.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, with ability to work independently and prioritize time and resources.
  • Previous experience working in a matrix environment and cross-functionally.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Please note that this is not a remote role.  Candidates must reside in the SF Bay Area.

Salary range:  $145,000 - $160,000. The compensation range for this position is specific to the location and is in good faith what SI-BONE expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
