Senior Design Operations

The Design team plays an important role in Shopee. The team covers the entire range of product UI/UX design, including the user-growth, promotion, wallet and payment, checkout, retention, listings and users, search and recommendation etc. The team is also responsible for the branding visual identities and elements of Shopee, including logos, mascots, stickers, and internal physical products.


In the Design Operations function, you'll work with a cross-functional, highly capable team of designers, product managers, and engineers, prototyping and iterating the ways our team works. We are looking for candidates who are eager to apply their design expertise to improve our processes, systems, and programs to ensure the Design team produces best-in-class work as our team grows at a fast-pace.

Job Description:
Partner with Design leaderships to continuously examine, experiment, and improve operational models and processes that would optimize designers’ workflow.

Implement and drive cross-functional programs to improve collaboration and ensure interdependencies between functions are understood and planned for.

Define and keep up-to-date documentation of how Design works and how to work with each of the Design disciplines that make up our team.

Identify and monitor key metrics that provide a clear link between the Design team's daily work and the organization’s mission.

Assure the coordination of all projects is up-to-date and clearly communicated by providing stakeholders with visibility of resource use, team performance, and health.

Plan and conduct initiatives to grow and develop designers’ skills, identify skills gap and the most effective learning methods for each team.

Define the Design team’s recruiting strategy and standard, by forecasting how many people are needed in the team and with what skills.

Partner with recruiters and employer branding teams to identify ways on attracting the best design talent in the market to join our team.

Requirements:
3-5+ years of direct work experience in Product Design or other user experience related roles.

Relevant work experience in e-commerce, tech company, creative agency or consulting environment is a strong plus (relevant roles include but not limited to: Design Operations, Design Producer, Program Manager, Creative Operations, or Project Management).

Passionate with “systems” and “processes” and always eager to make everything better at scale.

Capable of spearheading organization-wide projects, maintaining order in fast-paced environments, and getting things done even in challenging circumstances.

Demonstrates strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills especially in a cross-functional environment.

Familiarity with design and user research tools, methods, and processes.

Ability to collect, manage, and communicate with quantitative and qualitative data.

Able to demonstrate how your work has helped the team on reaching their goals.
